Snow Snow Snow

I believe we've gotten more snow in the past two weeks than we did all of last winter. I'm loving it though.. I feel right at home with the cold temperatures. :)

O Christmas Tree

For the past two years I've taken one of the branches trimmed off our real tree and decorated it. Sadly, I miss my opportunity this year and they got thrown out. When I saw a little tree for $7 at Joanns, I couldn't pass it up. I love it. It might never get put away. Also..it currently has painted acorns on it and one Pennsylvania Dutch star. :)

Ice Storm

We had a fresh layer of snow on Saturday night.. followed by a layer of icy freezing rain. The next morning was super pretty though.

O Little Town of Bethlehem (PA)

My friend Carolyn & I spent our afternoon exploring the historic little town of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. We wandered through old bookstores, walked along the river, geocached, and enjoyed the twinkling lights of the city at dusk.

Snow Day

We made snow angels, played with our big pooch, and (attempted) to run the model railroad in the snow. As a bonus, the roads were clear by 2:30 when I had to drive to work. It was a wonderful snow day. :)

The Circus Comes to Glick's

The annual poinsettia show at the local greenhouse is one of my favorite Christmas-y activities. Beautiful flowers, homemade wreaths by local businesses (including mine, see below :)), popcorn and cider, a new fun theme every year, and of course, you can't come home without a poinsettia for yourself. :)

This year's the theme was Circus! Probably one of my favorites to date. :)

 4-foot maneating chicken..haha!

Snowman Season

I built the first snowman of the winter! He was very little because the snow wasn't packing together very well. So we destroyed him quickly via the wood stove.

 .. Have a good Sunday. :)

Life Steps

I spent a good part of my evening working on the application essay for nursing school. I have officially applied, requested all my transcripts, my references will get their papers tomorrow and the essay will get mailed Monday. Jesus knows what will happen, that's good enough for me.

Green Thumb

I don't have much of a green thumb.. but I do have one cactus, two bamboo plants, and an aloe plant that I love very much. :)

Foggy Rain

It was a rainy and dreary day outside.. the kind of day I don't regret having a job indoors. :)

Lone Survivor

I walked outside to capture an image for today and found this little dried up leaf still hanging on our maple tree. The fall color left the valley weeks ago, but this tiny fellow was still there. In case you don't know, I'm participating in December Photo Project this month, meaning you get a new photo every day! Yippee! :)

Valley Night

I love how a camera can show us things we can't see with our naked eyes. They can show us anything from the details of microscopic items, to the row of trees hiding in the dark shadows. I happen to think it's pretty neat!

The Red (& Yellow) Baron

Day two of DPP and I'm already resorting to taking photos of the Christmas tree ornaments. Uh-oh.

Timber!

Our fam went out this afternoon to chop down the annual Christmas tree. It had to trek through a bit of mud, but we found a good one. :)

Today starts December Photo Project (DPP)! I've participated the past three years and I've really enjoyed it. The project is to take a photo once a day until the 25th of December. I'm looking forward to the challenge of breaking out my camera more! Be sure to check it out and sign up if you're looking for a fun way to photograph the holidays. You'll be seeing more from me this month.. hope your Sunday was a good one. :)
