I love campfires. Especially after wonderful afternoons filled with lots of fun with your youth group! (Working on catching up on my 'I Love' posts, I have the pictures, just need to post them, they'll be caught up soon!)

I Love...[29/52]

I love birch trees! They're my favorite type of tree, and the first I learned to identify when I was younger, because of their light-colored bark. This was shot in a grove of birch trees on the Jesup Trail, in Acadia National Park. Due to the fact that it was mid-day and the lighting was harsh, I decided to take an abstract approach to the shot. I used a longer shutter (and narrow aperture) to blur the trees by moving the camera from up to down. It would have worked much nicer with a tripod, but I'm pleased with it anyways!

I love lighthouses. When I was little I used to love going to see Cape May Lighthouse which was on our way to vacation on the Jersey shore..and I still love seeing lighthouses. They're so full of history (there I go with historical stuff again..), preserved through time, and they almost always are in beautiful locations. This is Cape Neddick Lighthouse, also known as Nubble Light (this gave us quite a bit of confusion while trying to find it with our GPS..), in York, ME.

I love the beach! The never ending pound of the waves against the sand, the amazingly cool breeze along the water's edge, and the sand between my toes.

I love being outside. (Especially when it's not so hot!)

I love my butterfly garden. Last year I planted four coneflower plants (which butterflies are supposed to like..but I never see them on the flowers!) and five butterfly bushes. They've grown beautifully, so now almost whenever you go outside there's a butterfly or two hanging around!

I love taking pictures out the car window. I shot this as we were heading back to the church from the beach one afternoon during the Missions Trip. More to come on it soon!

I love sunsets on the bay. The camp I go to sits right on the edge of the bay, and one of my favorite things is watching the sunset from the waters edge.

I love freshly cut flowers! The butterfly garden I started last year is going strong! This week I cut two of my pink Coneflowers off, and a tiny bit off the butterfly bush to brighten up the kitchen table.

I love meringue cookies. They're sugar and eggs, in other words, perfection! Everyone should have these delcious wonders! Don't know how to make them? Instructional post coming soon!

I love getting my feet in the mud. I also enjoy splashing in it like a five year-old!

I love camp! Every year, around the end of June, I work at a girl scout day camp. I've been going there for ten years, (since I was six, if you can't do the math!) and I've been a PA (program aid) for the last two years. Expect a full blog post later!

I love that deliciously yummy last few hours of golden light. Makes everything better! P.S. - Sorry there hasn't been many new posts guys. I've got plenty to blog about, but I've been getting killer headaches, and my laptop seems to like to overheat (it did tonight after I put a good bit of time into selecting pictures, editing, but I hadn't saved them yet...oops). So, hopefully it's an easy fix and I'll be back in business soon!

I love cows. Especially cows in black and white, but typically, just cows is enough.

I love making strawberry jam. It's wonderfully and magically delicious. My sister and I make all kinds of jams and can all sorts of things through-out the summer, but this and the peach jam are most definitely my favorites! (P.S. - whole blog post on this coming soon, keep lookout for it!)

I love canoeing! I've got this dream of owning a kayak or canoe in the future. Maybe one day! This was taken at the Outdoor Education Day at camp - I'll blog about soon!

I love watching things grow. Whether it happens to be baby robins, kids, butterfly bushes, friendships or shoe sizes. These two little guys are in a nest under our deck, I heard them a few days ago wanting food and finally saw a head today. What a cute little guy!

I love buttercups. I've always thought these little flowers were adorable. I'd noticed them along one of my walk routes, so one day this week I brought the 'ole camera along. Honest? I love this picture!
