My first glimpse of the Grand Canyon was rather dark, but the sun slowly lite up giving about a seven minute window before it disappeared back into the clouds. It was magical, even at a chilly and windy 10 degrees.

This was from Mather Point. There was about twenty other people watching the sunrise. As the sun came up, it grew quiet. A few "wow"s and "beautiful"s were whispered and the sound of camera's shutter was among the stillness.

It was a totally awesome experience. Good things means getting up early, but it's totally worth it - seriously.

From this point can see the Colorado river in the canyon below, snaking its way through the rocks.

Last, but
certainly not least, a California Condor! There's only about 330 of these birds in the
world. Needless to say, I was totally excited to get to see one - and so close to us too! Part two coming soon.
Beautiful photos! What an amazing experience! :D
