Tuesday Tidbits

Happy Tuesday friends! I actually found time to blog, hooray!
001. My favorite season is winding down, so that's a bummer. We did had a gorgeous autumn this year and I took an abundance of photos I'll share through the next couple months. Fortunately, I love winter too.. so I'm quite happy with the brisk air and snowy forecast. :) 

 002. I had a great number of clients in October! Two families, two seniors, one engagement, and one baby. I am so thankful for the people who trust me with to capture their lives, what a gift!

  003. This fall held many miles walked on trails & roads. I actually walked over 45 miles in October, so that's pretty cool. Definitely more on the hike in the photo above (rainy day on the AT) soon. :)

004. This is my best buddy, she's kind of the best.
005. Everyone keeps asking me how school is going (I love that people do :)) and I can honestly say it's going well. I am excelling in my classes and I find them interesting & challenging. That being said, it is hard work and nothing like I've ever done before. For example.. this weekend I spent 15+ hours studying. Yikes.

006. To end on a super duper awesome note... I am going to Savannah in December!! I am so happy to go back to this city (we spent a few hours there on our way to FL two years ago) and I couldn't be more excited. So if you've ever been in Charleston (we might stop there on the way) or Savannah, let me know any suggestions you have !

Tuesday Tidbits

Hey friends, happy first day of Fall! With the entrance of Autumn, Tuesday tidbits is back! I missed blogging about life and decided to give it a second go around. We'll see how it goes. :)
001. SO, Mike & I learned how to make sushi. It seems to get more delicious with each attempt! Tonight's menu included mango, crab meat (imitation) and avocado. It was definitely our favorite and best so far. We're going to try raw fish soon!

002. Nursing school is in full swing (one exam last week, two today, one for the next 4+ weeks) and it's crazy but I love it. I like my professors, I'm making friends, and I'm enjoying what I'm studying. Don't get me wrong, it is hard, but it's rewarding.

 003. I actually made a recipe I found on Pinterest - baked apple slices! They are delicious and I now make them two times a week.. at least. ;)

  004. This is kind of unrelated to the picture, but I finally upgraded to the world of smartphones. I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S5 and I love it ! All of the photos above were taken with it actually. I am super impressed with the quality and it's fun finding all sorts of cool things my phone does. :)

005. Side note: I got an Instagram, check it out!

 006. Mike & I had the privilege of watching two sweet friends get married on Sunday. We love them so much and had a wonderful time. :) These last few photos are from the wedding.

 The wedding was at a castle. It was great.

 Taylor & Andrew were there as well.. we always enjoy their company. :)

 007. Super awesome fantastic wonderful news: I'm going to be one of this lovely girl's bridemaids because SHE'S GETTING MARRIED! I am just so so so soo happy for her and Andrew. I love them together. It makes me happy. :)
Oh and bubbles also make both of us happy, even though we're kinda adults now.

Tuesday Tidbits

Hey! It's been a while since I posted any Tuesday tidbits due to my absolutely crazy month of June. If I'm being honest, July is probably going to be just as nuts. But I love love love life like this. It's been good.

001. Strawberries and blueberries are my summer breakfast. I'm popping blueberries into my mouth as I blog right now. Mhmmm.

002. A few of my favorite humans were visiting from Georgia on Saturday! I got to catch up, eat lunch, and blow bubbles with them. :)

 003. Not just any bubbles..  giant bubbles.

 004. I was at the beach earlier this month. Hannah & I were given a plastic kite and we tried to fly it..it didn't work. But it was fun anyways. :)

 005. Phoe & I scored this gem at a yard sale a few weeks ago. The next time we head to the beach (tomorrow!) we're going to try flying it! So excited.

006. I found myself back at camp last week. I was only there a day, but it was so good to help out, cook over a fire, and just be in the woods.

007. Happy news: two of my best friends are dating! We all went down to Philly this weekend and I took some pictures of them. They are kind of the cutest ever. 

008. Summer has been beautiful so far. I am having a blast. I'll share more adventures with you when I can. But right now, living life is a lot better than blogging it. Until next time, thanks for stopping by. :)

Tuesday Tidbits

Hey friends. Just popping in to share a bit about my week. :)
001. On Sunday we picked strawberries at our friend's farm. Nothing beats picking your own berries, tasting as you go, and $2 per pound prices. Yum. I plan to make jam in the next couple of days. Double yum. 

 002. I brought my leftover jams and jellies to work in hopes of getting rid of it quickly so I that could re-use the jars. My coworkers now love me more than ever before, mwahaha.

003. Remember that crazy hail storm I posted about last week? Well.. my car didn't do so hot. The windshield is cracked on the passenger side and she has bumps all over her. Because of the exterior damage, the insurance company deemed her totaled. So yesterday I began the search for a new (used) car. I plan to downsize to an actual car.. but boy will I miss this old gal.  

004. My little sister graduated this weekend! Ahh! She goes away to college in the fall. I can't handle that.

 005. I love the outdoors and I am dying a little inside to go camping. I almost convinced my friends to sleep outside last weekend, but they decided against it. :( Soon enough I'll find someone to pitch a tent with me in the woods.. or I might go stir-crazy.

Tuesday Tidbits

 Hey friends! I apologize that I kind of disappeared this past month. Life has been a tad bit crazy and when that happens, blogging isn't at the top of the priority list. I can't believe it's almost June! Time flies so fast. 

001. I found my magic giant bubble wand after being lost for a while. Now all I want to do is go outside and make giant bubbles.

002. Lots of little bubbles are fun too. :)

003. My hair is ridiculously long. I am debating getting just a few inches trimmed or chopping it to my shoulders. Thoughts? 

 004. May is such a wonderful month for hiking! I hiked at multiple different places this month with different friends. So much fun.

 005. We found turtles on said hikes.

 006. I rode a train last week! Aka crossed something off of my summer adventure ideas list, hurray! One down, nineteen to go. :)

 007. In unrelated news, I finished editing my photos from Costa Rica (y'know, from January) and will be posting them all soon ! Stay tuned!

 008. On Thursday I got stuck in one of the craziest situations of my life - a giant hail storm! I pulled into the parking lot of the mall and it started to rain, so I grabbed my rain jacket. By the time I had it on, the hail had started so I decided to wait it out. Well, 20 minutes later it was over and there was hail the size of golf balls two inches deep. The parking lot looked like it had been snowed upon, car windows were shattered (mine is cracked) and there was so much damage. Nature really is amazing. Thankfully, my sweet little car is okay. The roof rack is beat up, the windshield is cracked, and they are dents all over her, but she kept me safe and I'm thankful for that. :)

 009. So. Much. Hail. It was really insane!

010. I'll end on a good note.. summer dinners and guacamole. Mhmm. I love eating outside and using the grill. I forgot how I do kind of like summer. :)

Tuesday Tidbits

Good afternoon friends! I have really enjoyed having this weekly post this month (this is week #5!) and I hope you have too. There's a link-up at the bottom if you'd like to share your tidbits. :)

001. On Thursday I went and visited my friend Bri at her college! We sat outside in the sun, talked, went to a local (adorable!) coffee shop, and had a grand old time. :)

 002. We found a geocache! It was her 1st, my 100th, haha. :)

 003. We found this little gem inside and swapped it for a girl scout alien swap I had. I also had a plastic dinosaur in my bag, which Bri thought was hilarious. Don't normal people carry around alien swaps and extinct animals in their camera bags? 

 004. Sunday was beautiful. We flew kites, ate fro-yo, and sat by the river at the park watching birds. Perfect.

005. My favorite 50mm lens took a tumble out of my camera bag.. so now it is at a camera shop getting patched up. I miss it dearly. I use that lens probably 75% of the time and I can't wait to have it back!

 006. We saw a Yellow-Rumped Warbler flirting about in the trees. I love these little birds, they are so beautiful!

007. I found out Jo-Anns has a $1 bin. I couldn't resist getting a few and I can't wait to use these on cards! Plus that special delivery tape? So cute.

008. As promised, here is a picture of my first finished card! It may look simple but it actually took a fair amount of time and love. I like it so much that I'm not sure I'll be able to part with it so that I can send it to someone. That's probably not good, but oh well. :)
009. I didn't do so swell on my goal to send out letters this week.. I sent one. Better luck this week perhaps?

Tuesday Tidbits (Link Up!)

Good morning friends! I can't wait to read all about your tidbits this week. :)

001. On Thursday my best friend & I explored the streets of Philadelphia. We toured the mint, Independence Hall, ate yummy food, and walked to JFK plaza (aka Love park). I love this city.

002. If you're ever in Philadelphia (you should, it's a wonderful city :)) make sure Reading Terminal is on your list of places to see. It's a large indoor market with all kinds of different delicious foods. For lunch I had a authentic gyro, an amazing mango/raspberry smoothie, and a delicious soft pretzel. Yum.

 003. On Easter Sunday I woke up at 4:30, drove up to the mountain in the dark, hiked up to my favorite lookout with friends, and watched the sun rise over the sleeping valley. It was quiet and beautiful.

 004. We found an inchworm.. that is all. :)

 005. At church, I helped flip dozens of pancakes, serve hungry people, and chased little kids around making them giggle. Including this one.. she's my favorite. :)

006. I made everyone stop at a gorgeous blooming tree so we could take pictures. It was well worth it. :)

007. We found this mama Killdeer while geocaching this week! I stopped to pick up an acorn and she thought I was going after her eggs (I didn't see her or the eggs) and she scared me pretty good. I might stop by again this week to see if they've watched. :) 

008. My goal this week is to send out more letters (I have a list of almost half a dozen different people I need to respond to, yikes!) ! I am working on creating my own cards still.. I think I almost have one I like, so stay tuned. :)
