Spring in the Mountains

If you followed my old blog, you've probably heard about Hawk Mountain. It's one of the best raptor/bird viewing spots on the East Coast.

Our home school group headed up to the moutain for a short talk followed by a hike up to North Lookout. Right now is the peak of Spring Migration, but even so, there's not a ton of birds. However we did see a lot of turkey vultures!A lot of turkey vultures. If one of the kids spotted a bird they'd excitedly come tell me they spotted a Bald Eagle or a Hawk. I must have corrected them ten times..just another turkey vulture. But I sure love kids!

I think these are Dogwood tree buds, I'm not much of a flower person.
One of the mountains and valley from Bald Lookout. Have I mentioned I love this place? Toodles!
