Petrified Forest & Painted Desert

Welcome blog followers! Today I'll guide you through the Petrified Forest National Park, AZ.
That, my fellow bloggers, is petrified wood. It was buried under sand and once the sand was gone, it came alive again. There was tons and tons and tons of it!
This is the "Painted Desert". It's called that due to the crazy colors in the rocks. I lucked out with some gorgeous clouds.
Ravens can be found everywhere in the desert. There is an amazing amount of them! I'm a bird lover, and even though these guys might not be the prettiest, they were still worth a few shots.
These are called the Badlands of the Desert. And yes, - that is snow. At 6000ft elevation, trust me, there's snow, and it's darn cold. These are the San Fransisco Peaks (although they're actually by Flagstaff, I have no idea where the name came from!) which could be seen from some high points at the Painted Desert, - even though they're 100+ miles away! They also happen to be totally gorgeous. I had no idea Arizona had mountains like these! Well, that completes our tour for now..I've got plenty more pictures for lots more blog posts, I'll get them up ASAP! Hope you enjoyed it!
